"Bowie"
"Bowie" was born with a malformed mitral valve. His heart was
working overtime to compensate for the abnormality. Even with agressive
medical therapy Bowie had little chance for normal life -- either in
length or quality. Dr. Theresa W. Fossum and the Texas
A&M cardiovascular surgery team in collaboration with Dr. George
Noon of the Baylor College of Medicine successfully operated and
repaired Bowie's malformed valve.
In the more than two years since his surgery Bowie continues to live
well and perform strongly in the field.
